Island Arts & Crafts: The Haunting of Harstine Pointe

Posted on October 17, 2018October 21, 2018 by Zes

I think it’s important to really understand the place you live in — its history, its customs, and its potential for unexplained paranormal phenomena.  And when that place is light on all the above? Then it becomes imperative to marry one’s love of arts & crafts with available materials and a touch of the macabre.

It helps to have a gleeful partner in crime.

No one will suspect a thing.

Plausibly shaped debris and dramatic lighting are the keys to achieving the desired effect.  Don’t be afraid to send your boyfriend into even deeper and deeper waters in order to achieve verisimilitude.  Art demands perfection!

To achieve a nice wake effect after your sea monster, you might want to weight it down against the current.  The little touches really make the sea monster come to life.

Later, some grainy photo effects with Afterlight can be added to give things a historic feel. Be creative!

Crushed bones of sea monster victims? Yeah, sure.

Cast about the beach for details that lend credence to your claims — discarded clothing? That could be left by terrified victims attempting to escape.  Crushed white material? Bones left over from sea monster meals.  No dogs in the immediate area? They were too curious about the water’s edge.

A few meaningful comments dropped to locals could be all it takes for your sea monster myth to rise from the briny depths to become area lore.

Get started! Halloween is just around the corner!

New evidence just in! We interrupt this post for a breaking news story. A couple walking the beach came upon this key piece of missing evidence of a sea monster of Harstine Island.
